About Me

I am a Support Guru by trade and a Sci-Fi nut by habit. I love dance music (of the sort that the older generation exclaim “You call this music!?” :-) ) and fiddling with anything electronic. I am a great technical wizz and even do my own bike maintenance.

I program occasionally, in ARM assembler or C. I know my way around a PHP file, I’m not too shabby at PERL and VisualBasic/VBScript is next on the horizon. I know my AD from my LDAP and my DNS from my PDC.

For the company I work for I provide technical support to the ~4500 users on staff.

Outside of work I relax – spend time with my friends and family post online to the communities that I’m involved in. I do part-time programming and part-time bug-hunting. I’m a dab hand at graphics and am amateur DJ.

About my internet presence

My machines on the internet are provided by ByteMark Hosting. This web-server is one of their Virtual Machines (under User Mode Linux) called Peyton; it’s named Peyton after the Alias character Kelly Peyton (played by Amy Acker). My mail-server is another of ByteMark Hosting's Virtual Machines; this one's called Illyria after the character in the TV show Angel (also played by Amy Acker).

If you do sign up with them please mention the numbers: 80.68.95.185 . Those numbers are the IP address of this server and ByteMark give me a discount for everyone I refer. Thanks.
